50 HP mariner identification

I have been having a heck of a time trying to ID this new mariner 50 HP outboard I have just acquired. I cannot cross reference it with any of the charts I have found on the net. The serial # on the tag reads 08259804. Or it is possibly OB259804, I have tried to read it several times but cannot figure it out. I also cannot get a good pic of the serial number, although here is a pic of the motor. It is a 3 cyl. and did have oil injection but it has been disconnected.

Do you mean brand new or new to you?

OB8259804 comes up as:

50 B239242 - B396035 1988 3 cyl

The motor is new to me. I am used to Evinrude and Johnson stuff, probably why I cannot figure out something that should be simple. Thanks for the info. I will now be able to start to order some parts.

If there is anything to know about these motors as they (merc and mariner) are pretty new to me, let me know. It did compression test out at 137-137-141 on the cylinders.
