50 HP Merc won’t plane

My 75 50 hp Merc will no longer get up on a plane. I rebuilt the carburetors and put them back as clean as a whistle. The boat starts and runs awesome but I seem to be missing the high end rpms I need. I have also made sure I have the right prop pitch. If you have any advice I would be much obliged. Thanks

Hi, Jimmy.

Did she run better and get on plane before the carb work was done? What is WOT RPM?

Check compression and spark for each cylinder. One dead cylinder can cause what you're seeing.

GA_Boater she did use to run better and plane real nice with the same prop I’m using. but then started running a swampier and there was a fuel leak at the top carb so I got a kit and redid it. Not sure about rpms at WOT. I’ll have to look that up.

Water pump looked at ?----Check exhaust for blockage.
