hi guys, i recently removed my 1989 50hp johnson vro so that i could repair my transom. i noted where everything went and wired, cabled and piped everything up as it was but i am not happy with the two black wires that go to the oil tank. one has a bullet connector so no prob there, the other has a ring terminal and as i remember it connected to a stud on the powerhead along with a heavier cable. the stud is just above and to the right of the top starter motor bolt. i have since ditched the notes that i made but prior to starting i gave another look over just to make sure and the wires from the oil tank seem a little too stretched between their relevant connections. i think it's all ok as there is a witness mark on the ring terminal of the heavier wire but as the engine etc is very unmolested it just gives me a little doubt that these wires were connected not quite so tidily and i don't want to damage something by putting power to it if it's wrong. i don't have a manual as i always get my servicing done by the dealer except for this time when i only had to remove the engine. i have searched the net for a pic or schematic but no luck and i would be grateful if someone could confirm if it is right and mail me a pic or that bit of the schematic. my email: tazzy-baby@lineone.net many thanks in advance guys.

You can connect the ring terminal to any engine ground tazzy. That's what it's for.
