I just turned 500 hours on my 96 Celebrity 220 Status w7.4 Merc/Bravo 1 outdrive, I've taken the best care I can of boat and in turn it has performed great .

I'm thinking I need to replace gimball/bellows etc., while I have in shop I'm looking for advice on anything else to replace or at least inspect while they have it apart.

Thanks

Re: 500 hours

This has nothing to do with much, but I have a 97 7.4/Bravo 3 and have similarly maintained mine extremely well. It has returned as you say a lot of boating fun with no problems at 560 hours. I just took my outdrive off to replace the first ever problem - coupler - and the gimbal bearing and bellows and everything I checked all reflected the good care and looked great. However, things do age and perhaps its time for some bigger preventative maintenance. Since taking the outdrive off was so easy I plan to replace the bellows this fall on mine.

If you do the bellows you might as well do the lower shift cable too.
