50hp Evinrude what year?

Hi all<br />I reciently purchest a 50hp Evinrude model#50273c serial#eoo13907 can you tell me what year it is ? And what gas oil ratio should I use? How do I tell if the water pump is working correctly?

Its a 1972 model.<br /><br />50:1 is the ratio for premix.<br /><br />the water doesn't come out a pee hole, it flows from either side outlets on top and to the rear of the cav plate..<br />if you can touch the heads for 5 seconds without burning fingers, its not running hot.<br /><br />do a search for temp gauge on the board if you want to know about fitting an after market temp guage.. <br /><br />also test your overheat horn. touch the tan wire running to the head to earth with the ignition on, and you should hear a horn in your control box sound, thats your overheat alarm.<br /><br />hope that helps.<br /><br />regards<br /><br />Frank

Thanks for the great Information It was very helpfull. It is running great now but having trouble with the electric choke solinoid. When I hit the switch it doesn't move but if I hold the switch and bump the choke linkage it pulls it on and stays as long as I hold the switch. Any thoughts? Thanks <br />Daniel
