hello..I am kinda new to outboards and I am asking this question for my uncle. when priming the motor before starting the gas bulb fills the inline filter. the motor will run but the gas in the filter will run out and then the motor stalls. if everything worked correctly would that fuel filter stay full? going to try to fix after work tomorrow so please help need to get it out for fishing on the 4th.

thanks
Chris

If everything worked correctly, the fuel filter might not stay completely full, but it would certainly not completely run out of gas. In other words, with everything in good condition, the fuel filter and fuel line should stay full enough to keep the motor running. If you can keep the motor running by continuously squeezing the fuel bulb, and then when you stop squeezing the motor konks out in a minute or two, you probably have a problem with your fuel pump.

if you are going the use the seafoam on the carb why not go all the way. get it running, and do the debarb, in the engine faq forum. i can't hurt. and wiil kill a bunch of mosquitos.
