50HP mariner water around spark plugs

O.K. I didn't run the boat in water before I purchased it! 1984 Mariner 4cyl. 50 hp. #65---- serial number. After I replaced the water pump and now in the process of cleaning out the fuel system, which will includes rebuilding the carbs.<br />I am getting water coming from around the spark plugs. I know that the water jacket gasket is the cause. The water jacket cover already has two snapped of bolts. Is there a quick fix to get this motor in the water to catch an end of season fishing trip?

You will have to get some easyout's to remove the old bolts. Then replace the gasket.<br /><br />TMD
