Get a manual, get a carb kit, and take them off and do it right. It's not that hard, and the difference it makes is immense.

Please quit running it before you damage it and it costs more than $250 to repair, if it is not getting enough fuel its not getting enough lubrication plus carb cleaner & starting fulid are a no no on a running engine(no lube)

Removing the carbs and doing it yourself is not a big deal. There are a couple of need to knows before you do it to make it easier. My '77 500 Thunderbolt with Tillotson carbs required me to remove the starter (4 bolts), twist the plastic linkage that connects the choke and it will come right off, remove the top carb first, and try a couple of wrenches on the inside carb bolts, some work, some won't, you need to get the right angle on the wrench and they are not all the same. I tried 3 wrenches before I found the right one. You will be unsuccessful doing the job without removing it, that's a waste of time. Buy new carb kits and fuel pump kits, they're pretty cheap. If you have Tillotsons with the blue fuel inlets, but new ones, you'll never get them to stop leaking if they are old, they're only $5 each.

If your motor has these carbscarb-filter.jpg note the filter screen. I took mine out because there is a filter near the fuel pump and I keep my fuel system clean.
