50hp yam siezed pivot

hi iv just brought a 50hp yam which i belive has been standing unused for a while, it runs like a dream but it is realy hard to turn it on its povot point has anyone got any ideas haw to free it up iv tryed wd40 but its still stiff is there any easy way of doing it thanks for your help james

If its remote steering , disconnect the cable and check its not the cable. There are lots of posts here about seized steering cables , very few about seized up pivots.

hi its not the cable because it aint on a boat yet its on a stand thanks anyway im gumma pump it full of new grease

Try some PB Blaster, it's available at the auto store or Wally World , let it work its way in and keep moving the pivot, may take a few days, grease all fittings about every third time you use the boat, esp. if you are in salt water, it helps push out any trapped water.
