50's gas cap help

I have lost the gas cap to my 50's pressurized gas can. There are currently 2 on eBay, but the seller can't give me any information about them other than he claims they are OMC/Johnson/Evinrude. Are these likely to fit my gas can? The pictures look close to what I expect, but I would hate to spend the money on a cap that doesn't fit when I could have put that money towards a fuel pump and new can.

Sorry I can't help with a for sure but I'm 99% sure that all pressure tank caps are the same. I'm sure that the later short tank caps are the same. I'm just not sure about the early tall tanks. Good luck!

They are all the same, including the very early tall and rare "suitcase" tank. There was a change from a tall to a short "wing" on top of the cap so it could fit under a seat better, but they are interchangeable.

Thanks. I had kind of concluded they were pretty much the same, but just wanted to make sure. I'll bid on eBay and see what happens.
