Hello everyone I am new to this site and thought it would be a good idea to introduce both me and my new to me boat. I picked this jewel up complete with engine and trailer for $125. Came with a 1958 evinrude sportwin 10hp. The trailer has already been cleaned and painted (no before pics but it was rough).

The previous owner thought the boat was a 59 or 60 but didnt know for sure. It also came with a off to the side steering console that is not pictured at this time. But looking around on the net I cant seem to locate a pic of one like it.

all tags indicating year and model are missing. So if you guys have any clues please clue me in.

Ok after a little more digging, I have found out it is an FD model. The numbers on the kicker for the transom are 7862.

Looks to be a '59. Beginning in 1960 the spray rail runs closer to the waterline. Not positive, but looks to be pre-1960. Some have had success working with the factory to place a boat by model number/year. When I have a chance I will check it against by FDs.

Nice boat...white oak on the inside of the transom, good plywood on the outside (not originally green treated...not sure that existed in those days--creosote might have been the preservative of choice!)

Side console steering is a pretty neat option...keeps it open for fishing and movement around the boat.

Keep us posted on progress and needs...

great looking rig. It's always nice to see another FD owner coming on board.
