i have a 1988 carver santego. owned boat for 6 yrs and i love it. ive done some fiberglass work to the hull in the past but every year after hauling out for the season i keep getting a crack in one of the strakes on the bottom of the hull. its only about a 1" long hair line crack from the hull flexing i was told. and every year i repair it with something, sand it down, apply marintex with some fiberglass matting. i would like to try is either 5200 or life caulk to fill in the crack, perhaps make it more permanemt. it will be underwater... thanks

Welcome to iBoats!!!

If it truly is occuring due to flexing then it stands to reason that you have other issues to consider.

Yacht Doctor is our iBoats expert on boats of this size. You might want to PM him with your issues. BUT... he WILL want pics!!! My signature line has a link on how to post your pics.

My neighbor has a 28 footer (before he sank it) idiot.I thought it was a nice boat but needed work like they all do, he didn't pay attention to the packing boxes and bilge pumps.
Previous issues have been balsa cored hulls but the carver forums have fixed these problems.
