Got a 55 hp chrysler outboard i am trying to work on for a friend. I am asking this question hoping for some help.

The motor ran and ran great. It was recently switched from one boat to another and still ran great. Then about 2 weeks ago the starter quit.

New starter was installed and now the motor crans but has no spark. Am i missing something here?

Could the power pack have quit too or something like that?

Where can you find parts for these things?

Need to know which Chrysler 55. Dual carb or single carb? What year? magneto ignition, battery, points and coil ignition, or Magna Power II (only dual carb engines)?

For parts, go to the Chrysler Crew or franzmarine@aol.com

Chrysler 55hp 559HG no spark

Hello,

My 55hp Chrysler has no spark whatsoever and I'm having serious difficulty on how to resolve it. I believe the coils are good, and the points have power. There's a box which I believe is called a "cd module" with part# 345301, but I don't know if it's bad or what. This problem is driving me crazy. I got this boat a month ago and it hasn't seen the water yet. I would appreciate any expertise that anyone could supply. This is my first boat motor and I'm lost.

Thank you very much.

Jon
