55 to 57 long shaft extension

After getting input from here (thank you very much) reguarding extending my 35 hp big twin 1957. I posted on the aomci web site and received 7 responses
(wow very impressed) thanks to you folks too if you are reading this post.
Any how I received 2 responses from within an hour of me. I talked to one person who has an extension and parts needed from a 55 johnson 25 horse.

he gave me the part number from his extension housing 304030 which is what
my parts manual shows for a 25931 which would be a long shaft version of my25930, correct? can I assume or can someone tell me for sure that the rest of the parts,drive shaft,shift extension,and water tube extension would also be the same?

I didn't think the drive shaft would be the same, but I just checked the book and it is. See, trust the book over me.

Thanks F R , I also did some more checking after my post and found out the same. Thanks again, I am picking up the parts tomorrow after work.

Gonna try and run the boat this week end. will post back results on performance.
