55hp yam wont start

hi i have a 55hp yam 2 cylinder it was runnig fine but when i tryed starting it 5mins later it wont start it dont seem to spark please help

Battery OK?<br />Connections at battery and at the outboard OK?<br />Spark plugs OK?

Jamesboater, Hello some time ago I had a simillar problem, the motor would not start but would turn over eventually I found that the fuel line was not connected correctly and there was no fuel in the system check ,the fuel line is plugged in properly (motor side), I also had a problem with the in gear no start switch,In other words the motor gearbox was in neutral but the switch possition saw a in gear situation and would not start. I have had the switch replaced and all is well,I have the Yamaha 55 el, this motor has been very good to me and barring the neutral switch it has been trouble free, still one of the better motors produced for every day hard work,does your motor turn over but not start????<br />Regards William Wright,

hi yes it turns over but wont start it dont seem to have a spark but it was fine 5mins befor

Hi,<br />Probably wise to try to find out why it did not start before.<br />You do not want to be middle of the sea and same happen again.

well wot i did was try and get the fly wheel off but couldant because i havant got the pullers thats when i noticed the movement in it, the fly wheel and shaft lifted a bit but it fired up so im puzzled im going to have a look under it any ideas thanks james
