'56 30hp johnson recoil starter

My '56 johnson currently has a toothless flywheel with no recoil starter. what year recoils will fit? I have the opportunity to get a '58 35 hp recoil rope starter. Also, what flywheels are compatible? I'm itching to get an electric starter on this thing.

Hi Jonesy,<br /> Your flywheel should have a steel, toothed cog bolted to the center of the hub with three bolts. If you're lacking that, you don't need to replace the whole flywheel, just the cog. Contact me offl the board - I may have some parts for you.....<br />Scott<br />csr112-n@prodigy.net
