56 - 53 parts interchangable? evinrude 15 hp.

I picked up a 1956 15hp evinrude. Seen an add for a 53 and was wondering if parts are the same. Thks

There were a lot of changes in the 15hp Fastwins between the '53 and '56 model years. Ignition components are the same, but much of the other stuff had subtle changes and may or may not be interchangeable.
