:'(Hello-Just got back from Roosevelt Lake, AZ and had to be towed in...Motor was working well first day, then seemed to start to slip in gear. Then nothing. I would manually shift motor into forward and reverse from nuetral and engine wouldn't kick into gear. It would just rev-up. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated....

Thank You!

shift linkage could have come loose, sheared pin in the prop, spun hub in prop, these are the easy ones, then there is the lower unit, itself.

The prop spins about 3/4 turn then stops so I'm pretty sure it's a sheared pin or spun prop. I'm pretty sure the water pump still works. Gonna check to make sure shift linkage didn't come loose. If that's O.K. I guess going to take bottum case apart to see what is up then.

THANKS FOR YOUR INPUT......o:)

take your prop off. the shear pin runs thru prop shaft and will probably be in 3 pieces

sounds like a spun hub from here, pull it off take a black felt marker, put a mark from the hub accross to the prop. Put it back on and run it again, then check to see if the mark still lines up if not it's a spun hub!
