Does anyone know where (if anywhere) to get some replacement knobs for the high and low adjustment on the carburater? Mine work but i was rebuilding and repainting it so I was wanting to better looking knobs. Also does anyone know where a carburater diagram for this thing would be? Thanks for any help in advance

Laingsoutboards.com
I'm not sure about the diagram for the carb. Aomci.org would be a good spot.

I just bought a '58 carb on fleabay because mine was missing one of those knobs. I did find a NOS knob somewhere on the net for $27 but the used carb complete with knobs for $19 gave me the knob I needed along with a carb for other spare parts.

Ebay or go to AOMCI.org and post a free want-ad on their Webvertize.

I just purchased an oem factory parts catalog for my dads 1958 big twin electric off ebay. Under 10 bucks delivered and it has a great blow up diagram of the carb, and everything else. Of course part numbers are listed also. There are still several on ebay now, just search big twin manual, have your model number handy.

If you have the knobs, why not restore them with the rest of the motor? Unless they're corroded or something, they'd be easy to repaint then lightly sand the paint off the raised areas to allow the aluminum to show.

If you do need knobs, keep an eye on eBay as carbs turn up from time to time with the knobs still on them...
