I hope someone out there can help with some questions about the steering wheel on the 57 Sealine RD restoration project.
Attached are some pics of the steering wheel assembly and its issues.
The steering wheel itself has sun rot and the internal steel shafting has corroded and split the plastic portion of the wheel where it attaches to the shaft. Can anyone explain how the wheel attaches to the shaft?
Is there any aftermarket replacements or original wheels available?
How do you remove the Logo insert from the center of the wheel without damaging it?
Also, the shaft is seized up and will not rotate in the housing. PD Baster doesn't phase it. Any suggestions?
Thanks for any help.
