Hey new to the site, and just aquired a 1958 runabout delux. The boat is in good shape no big dings in the hull, transom in great shape. But needs to be sanded and repainted and a motor bolted on. Seems like a perfect boat for a resto project, I was wondering what a fair price would be for this old girl. Did some work for a women and kinda wanted to know if i got a fair trade on it. Thanks

Aaaaaaaall depends on the condition. Can you post some pics?

Is there light blue vinyl on the upper facing decking? Do you have the serial number?

The best way for me is to host them at www.tinypic.com You browse for the pic, upload it, then it gives you the code to copy and paste for forums. It's easy, but let me know if you need help. Oh, make sure your pics are not huge...whatever size they are, that's the size they'll be on here.

Someone already reported serial 20761 to us some time ago, and that one is an S-148; you must've purchased from the guy which reported this to us. Can you re-check the model? There is no model "18".

See if that worked. Ya i think it is a s148 and i am the one who talked to you guys. Talked to a guy named joseph mansutto sorry if i spelled it wrong. That is how i found out what the boat actually was. Also do you think that this is the original trailer? thanks

Re: 58 duratech runabout

I have my doubts that this is the original trailer due to how short it is...and also, depending on the distributor which sold the boat, they could've gotten the trailer from anywhere. There are some good trailer geeks on the Classic Boathouse group on Facebook. If you're on FB, join that and ask some of them guys if you'd really like to know.

Your boat is definitely a 1958, yep, you must've spoken to me. The spelling is close, but I don't mind...it's not a common name, you'll likely not see it again. :)

The hull does look good. The top decking seems ok, but can't see it all. How about the seats - do they need to be replaced? I'd say if you did more than $500 worth of work for this, the lady got a good deal. But, this is a VERY good and solid hull, very worth while if you fix it up. Once fixed up and with a motor, she could be worth a couple thousand. However, if you like a classic type runabout, you'll love the ride and won't want to sell her.

I would say your boat would be worth about $2000 after fixing it. But trust me, once you sit in a duratech you will not want to sell it.

Ya the seats need to be redone. But i think that the boat is well worth it. When i saw it i really liked how styalish and simple it is. Thought it would be a good boat for a beginner to restore. So i am gonna restore it this winter in between ice fishing and that pesky work thing. It is nice to have a site to go to if i need advice. Thanks again
