58 Evinrude V4 water draining

I was wondering how much water might be left in the motor after pulling the boat out of the water? Motor was tilted when the boat was retrieved, then dropped down to its upright position. Assuming the motor was cool enough when it came out that the thermostat closed, is there any water left in it that could cause damage during winter storage?

If stored in the upright position, it should be self-draining. There are drain holes in the lower unit - make sure they are not plugged up. May be one or two, about 1/8" in diameter.
