I Am Going To Install An Impeller In 1959 35hp Lark. Do You Just Simply Remove The Four Bolts On The Bottom Of The Foot And Remove It Or Is There Something Else To Disconnect?

there is also the shift rod. on the starboard side half way up the leg there is a small cover plate with two scerws in it and behind that plate is another cover with two bolts in it. and behind the last cover is the shift rod coupler. remove the bottom bolt completely, take it out and set it on the work bench and dont lose it:) oh almost forgot there is a long bolt behind the rear exhaust cover(that big thing that covers the upper part of the leg and the rear half of the power head, should be held on with screws) that also holds the lower unit on. as far as i can remember that is everything, good luck, you should also get a manual. it will help you more than you realize

An impact screwdriver will be a big help in getting all those phillips head screws out of the back cover.

Important hint: When you put it back together, use a flashlight to peer in there and make sure the notch in the shift rod is aligned EXACTLY with the screw hole in the brass connector. If the screw rubs on the edge of the notch, it will wipe the threads off of the screw every time. Then it will fall out 5 miles from the dock.
