I am using the pull starter at this point the electric start needs to be rebuilt my question is when I pull the engine over should there be gas coming out of the fuel line going into the carburetor? I disconnected the line and have found I only get gas coming out when I'm pushing The primer bulb not when I am actually Pull starting it. I probably need a new diaphragm in the fuel pump if that's the case please tell me the answer thank you.

Okay Dave 1964, sounds like you could have a fuel pump issue at that. And it wouldn't hurt to repair it with a pump kit. That way you know for absolutely positively sure the fuel pump is good. I'd remove it, and open it up to check the diaphragm and check valves. But a fuel pump kit shouldn't cost a whole lot. JMHO

No Title

This is the fuel pump that's on it. Do you have a part number for a rebuild kit?

It's been at least 50 years since they quit making parts for that pump.

EDIT: Order a new 18-7351 fuel pump here at iboats. You will have to re-route the hoses, but you probably were going to put new ones on it anyway, weren't you?
