Here's the deal I've got an old QD 20 10hp Johnson Seahorse. Hasn't run in about 15 years. Have another QD 23 "parts" engine hasn't run for about the same amount of time. Years ago in my younger inexperienced days I took the exhaust side cover off and broke most of the bolts off. I didn't have a clue at the time how to remove so I threw it under the bench and left it until now. I removed the power head and removed the broken bolts and buttoned it back up. I also had taken the lower unit apart back in the day so I took it apart and put it back together correctly. I know I should have ordered a new impeller but I didn't. Parts from I boats usually take 2-3 weeks to get here and I was looking to see if I could get it running. I put the best of the two impellers in it and put it back together. Motor fires up and idles fine but won't pump water. I had removed the thermostat as it was stuck and badly corroded. I removed the lower unit and tried to push water up the water pipe with the garden hose. It won't go. I also put the hose in thermostat hole and tried to force water back down but again no go. Any ideas on where the blockage would be?
Thanks in advance...

Figured it out the water tube was plugged with dust and grease from greasing the water tube. Thanks for your replies.
