Hi All

Just joined up, as I have a problem and hpoing someone can help :)

I have a 5hp cmh, and it is seized. I have a feeling it is not the piston as there is a strange squeel if I turn the motor with a long bar on the flywheel nut (flywheel is off).

It is very difficult to turn however. This has happened before but never this bad. Normally I can get it going (starter rope a bit stiff) then once running it frees up again. It seems this time I left it too long. That will teach me for not getting out on the boat for a whole week!

So far I have all of the bolts out of the underside of the power head, and the lower unit. I want to get the driveshaft out to see if that is the sticking point.

I am now stuck, the lower unit will not come off, and the powerhead seems to be superglued on! There is one cowling bolt left in as I can not access it but all of the actual bolts to the motor are gone, and I have disconnected the shift rod for the other end (great idea that one - previous evinrudes I have had took an eternity to get the rod back in the hole!).

Any advice appreciated, I dont mind which end comes off as long as I am making progress.

Thank you for reading and hope you guys can help me out :)
