6.5" speakers in the 5.25 hole on the 1950?

I have an 02 1950 capri and the stock speaker size is 5.25. I'm looking to replace them with some 6.5 and was wondering if anyone was able to fit one in there? Doesn't seem like there is much room.

cut it out with a jigsaw, then seal the open cut with resin or epoxy. thats what i did, with epoxy. now i got jbl marine speakers back there, much better. theres a thread in here too about adding the other 2 speakers around the helm area if you look around.
