Good morning and happy Easter everyone...

I have a 59 ten hp Evinrude I'm restoring. The motor is comimg along ok, my problem now is with the 6 gallon pressure fuel tank. I have disassembled, cleaned and inspected everything. Everything looks to be in good shape but I can't get it to pump pressure into the tank. Any advise would be greatly appreciated...

What do you mean? It isn't pressurizing when you attach it to and run the motor? Or you're trying to pressurize it by pushing the button on the tank? Pushing the button won't pressurize the tank. It merely pumps gas into the carb to get the motor started. Once running, the return air line from the motor pressurizes the tank.

Hold the plunger open on the connector's 'fuel' side and repeatedly press primer button on tank. Fuel should come out the connector from the tank. If not, you need to rebuild the primer system inside tank. Search this forum and you'll find out how.
Or you could convert your outboard to a single line system: http://www.sschapterpsa.com/ramblings/Converting_dual_fuel_line.htm

Oops, sorry guys, I thought the button on top of the tank was supposed to pressurize the tank. I don't have the hoses hooked up to the tank yet so if I pump the button on top of the tank gas should come out of the nipple where the hose hooks up?
Thanks for helping this newbie...

Yes, gas should come out. Gaskets and O-rings, etc. can be obtained here:

owe how correct you are .you could pump that baby till the end of time and it wont pressureize anything .think of it as a squeeze bulb built on to the tank.i have 3 of these tanks now and they are very reliable and i might add safe contrary to some uninformed sources.
