Re: 6 HP 1990 evinrude update
My motor fuel connector was loose so I felt that the motor may be drawing air, rather than buy a new connector I put two rubber gaskets on the connector fuel nipple, It tightned it up and also I made sure that the fuel tank breather was open . I took it up to the lake and the motor fired right up. I was able to buzz around the lake in higher rpm range. At full throttle the motor would sputter a little, so I took a fuel pump from my other 6Hp.and installed it. The other fuel pump made the motor perform nicely. The motor would stall when the RPMs would slow down, however, So now i've got to work with the low speed idle screw and possibly take the carb apart one more time.
