it will start easily cold, and run fine. but stop, after it is warm, it will not start. new impeller, not running hot (infrared thermo). carbs cleaned, check spark with tester, great spark.

any ideas?

Maybe an obstruction in the fuel system, leaking air in the fuel line or, the tank isn't venting. Sounds like the ignition is OK.

If you're stopped for more than 15 minutes try treating it as a stone cold start, fast idle lever + choke.
0-15 minutes just the fast idle lever.

Compression after warming up? If you spray 50:1 into the carb and retry does it fire?

Had the same problem with a Evinrude 4.5HP 1984. Ran ok cold and then bad when hot. Check your compression in both cylinders. Before I stop using it, it had 65 on top and 50 on bottom cylinders. 100PSI is normally good for a pull-start small outboard.

I am having the same problem with my 88' 2.5 hp. When it stops, does it do so suddenly or does it sound rough and then die? Do you have good spark after it dies?

^^^^^^^^

Great question!
If you have lost spark after it warms up, you could try freeze spray on various electronic components to see which one might be the culprit.
