6 HP Johnson - Removing Throttle Handle

I need to replace the kill switch on my 1990 6 HP Evinrude motor, I have tesed the switch with an OHm meter and detemind it was faulty. I pushed in the 2 release buttons on the handle which made it loose, but I could'nt figure out how to get the rest of the handle off.

I assume there's some easy trick that doesn't require me to remove the entire throttle cable.

Please help....I'm working on getting a manual from my local dealer, just haven't made it there yet.

Turns out the only problem was I had the wrong landyard to put on the tiller.

Motor run great and starts right up.
