i am in need of the clarification of the points gap and the static setting for the timing on a 6 hp tern engine can anyone help i can and will take a guess at both and start it i have had it a while but decided to take it apart and check on its condition it is ok a little soldering may have stopped deteriation in the electrics but i would like to know how to set it up correctly stop me if i am wrong but is th throttle cable position the only way to alter the initial timing ie as altering its clamp position it is in good condition apart from a little damage to the clamp to affix it to the boat anyone had experience bending aluminium castings regards p i am based in east yorks and we have quite a nice stretch of level waterway to play on both canal and river
