Hello from MN. I picked up an old 6 HP Wards Sea King outboard at a sale this weekend and I know this much so far from searching your forum. The model# is VWB 19074B which probably makes it a Chrysler product. Your comments so far suggest I can get replacement parts (gas tank/hose is missing)and service manuals if I look around. I guess I am wondering if you could pinpoint the year my motor was made and confirm that the gas/oil mix should be 50:1 as the previous forum info suggests. Lastly I would love to know where I could get any type of owner/service manuals for this motor. I believe that after looking it over and discovering how simplistic the design is and how available the parts apparently can be that I will own this little hummer till I die! Thanks in advance for the help!

Welcome to iboats. :)

50:1 is correct. Common parts are readily available, some right here on iboats. A factory manual could be difficult. Aftermarket manuals are often available at public libraries. Find one you like and order it right here from iboats in the Marine Mega Mall. Nice little motor, but the starter is kinda sucky.

That's what I have to offer. Now it's time to do a little homework. There is a lot of Sea King and Chrysler history, and you can find the year. Have a look...

http://www.discount-marine-parts.com/

Thanks WBW!
It is as I suspected a 1967.
When you say the starter is kinda sucky...is that because it has the nylon insert or is there some other reason?
I just got back with a new tank and hose got gas and she does not fire at all so I think I have some work to do but not sure where to start until I pick up a repair manual of some sort.
