Hi, I have a freind going to US east coast soon and would like to buy a cylinder head for my 1983 60 hp 3 cylinder two stroke, The parts numbers are different between USA and Europe but I am almost shure that the parts are the same and fit. The european part number for the head gaskit is 6h31181A200 , the US number is 6H31181A0-00 Does anyone know for sure if these US parts are the same as the European parts, the cost in USA is less than half. Very Many Thanks.

An update, I found the gasket number matched one on a Florida based parts supplier so I ordered that and a cylinder head and bolts, the parts were listed as being for a 1984 70 hp but it seems those three cylinder engines had the same heads. I sure hope so. The parts lists start at 1984, what happened to engines made before that?

Great!...sounds like you got real lucky to find the parts you needed!;)....Guess the older the motor, the more challenging to find parts?

Yamaha did not sell motors here in the US before 1984, so that is why they are not listed in parts here

Thanks Robert and 99yam40, it seems like the head has to come over from calif. so it may take a few extra days. I am interested to know what the difference is between the 60hp sold in Europe and the 70hp that was selling in the U.S. Thanks again, D.

Re: 60 hp 1980s cylinder head for Europe

This maybe useful to anyone outside US buying parts, it seems that the twostroke 60hp from the early 80s to mid 90s is basicly the same engine as the 70hp sold in the US. The parts diagram that is shown on iboats and hardcore etc. looks to be same as the one used by dealers in europe. I have not found it on a europe website though. It might be that the same engine has the h.p. measured at the engine/ power head in the US and at the prop in europe. Maybe one of you master tec guys can confirm this. Anyway it is a great help to get parts for these older engines from the US at much better prices. Many Thanks, :)

Just to break the numbers down, the 6H3 means the engine group, 1181 means its a cylinder head and A2 means it an updated number or different part. So the A0 and the A2 could look the same but be different.

Thanks Capt Ken, that does help understand the part numbers. In this case though the number ending A0 is a new number for the same part ending A2. Many thanks,
