89" 60hp johnny I went to the inlet last night and motor ran countiously for about 2 hrs on the way back to the boat ramp my overheat buzzer comes on at the same time I noticed a ton of water in the bottom of the boat because the bilge was not working.I pumped the water out of the boat about 3 min time with boat motor off. I cranked back up the buzzer didnt sound and i ran full throttle back to ramp. Can the extra drag of water in boat cause an overheat??????? Should i be concerened ran to ramp full throttle 1/2 mile away fine.....

Joe,

Not directly. However, if you were running at displacement speeds (plowing) you are working the engine VERY hard. If your water pump (impeller) is marginal, the angle of the engine may have contributed to your situation.
