I am looking to purchase a 1958 to1962 60hp Scott motor. Can anyone tell me how easy it is to find parts for these motors. The lower unit looks just like my 56 30hp Johnson.

Any additional info on these motors would be appreciated too.

Basically should i stay away or are they easy like my 56 Johnson.

Old and rare does not necessarily mean either worth a lot or good. Remember the AMC Pacer?

Parts are difficult to come by and unless you are emotionally attached--read restoring a period boat- don't bother. Even in running condition, the complete engine is not worth more than its scrap value and because there are so few around, parting it out will probably not yield any gain.

AND: If it has the Bail-a-Matic, that's even more reason to stay away. It had two water pump impellers, one for the engine and one to bail the boat. The bailer always went dry and always failed.
