I just came from the Upstate South Carolina Boat show and at the entrance was a 27 ft. Pontoon boat with twin 300 Mercury Verados on the back....with special "show discounts" price is $125,000!.....I must be getting old or behind the times, but that's an awful lot of power and money for a pontoon boat!....least it seems so to me....

We've got some 600hp and 300hp versions on our lake...all in the Premier line. They have a different shape than the one posted above and are Tri Toons as well.

It's one of those "if you have to ask how much, it's not for you" type of scenarios...

This was a triton but those motors looked heavy and powerful enough to cave in that thin aluminum transom.....but I guess they know what they're doing....just seems like wide open/full power and some heavy seas might cause some fatigue here?....

I'd guess that wide open power in a 600 HP pontoon boat could turn into a disaster quickly on anything other than very smooth water. .... As a retired aviator, I wonder how they balance the boat's tendency to fly with it's tendency to nose dive at speeds approaching 100 MPH.

I don't understand the need for that much HP on a Pontoon/Tritoon, it sure sat low in the water

Americans will race any thing, dont know if you have ever seen it but once a year in Vegas they have a motorized bar stool races, i have often wondered how many shots it took to get that started

I did lawn mower racing for a few years

I guess your right, I guess it all boils down to how much money you want to spend on recreation. racing lawnmowers would be fun, I would do something like that. but 900 HP on a toon, that's to much speed for me. I'm happy with my 60 HP LOL

Agreed. I would add it's about priorities as well. If I want to go fast, it's not going to be with a pontoon. Too many other options that are not only able to go much faster on the same amount of money, but they can do it in a much more sane manner. 3 engines is nuts...
