60hp Johnson Drive Shaft & Lower Unit

Hi,<br />I have a 1981 Johnson 60 J60ELCIA. While out on the water the other day, I hit a cement pilon, and busted the lower unit housing.<br /><br />I found and purchased a complete lower unit from a 1982 60hp J/E off of ebay. When I got it, I immediately noticed that the number of splines on the drive shaft was wrong. The new one has 4 splines and mine has 13. Also, the shift linkages look different.<br /><br />So, my question is can I replace the drive shaft and the shift linkage on this lower unit with those from mine?<br /><br />Thanks for your help.
