60hp Mercury Bigfoot 2-stroke ignition type

I'm restoring a pontoon boat that has this engine. I have found a complete console on eBay that says that the Igntion is intended for a Mercury but is universal and can be wired to work with all brands of engine (Except Mercury Digital such as Verado or Optimax DTS). Would this work with my engine? I have asked the seller this question, but I haven't heard back yet. I really like the layout of this console, but I don't want to shell out $225 for something that won't work.

The above post was the result of a brain-fart. If the ignition doesn't work with my engine, I can use my current ignition. Duh...
