I have a question on a 1993 60 evinrude (TE60TLETD) I am wanting to change the carbs with a set from a 70hp model, to make mine a 70hp motor..... the carbs are the only difference in the 60hp and 70hp if I have been told correctly??.........I have found a few of these sets listed for sale on the internet. Is there a manual that can tell by the # on the carbs which engine it came off of? To make sure I am buying what I need ...... (RonMartin@email.com)

They tune the same motors for different horsepowers with different carb throat sizes, exhaust tuning, timing/throttle curves, reed blocks, etc. Changing just one factor probably won't get you the full effect. You'd probably not notice a whole lot of difference. Maybe another mph or two. If you're lucky you'll be able to sling the next size steeper prop for 3 or 4 mph. I just don't want you thinking it's going to make all the difference in the world. Honestly, you'd probably be disappointed.
