I tried to post his yesterday, but it didn't show up so, let's try it again.
On the '61 Sea Horse 10 hp: Is there supposed to be a spring or keeper behind the lean/rich knob to keep it from moving around randomly? AND what is the # of turns (or turn) for the jet screw in the center of the lean/rich knob?
On the '65 Speedifour 75 hp: She has 90+ lbs compession on all four cyls. - Is that OK? what is the stock (when it was new) compression supposed to be? she has been sitting for some years so it may tighten up a bit with being started and run... I hope - LOL
Thanks guys

The 1961 1ohp model..... should have a brass locking nut sleeve there with two fiber packing washers behind it. Tlightening down that brass nut results in pressure to the adjustable needle valve keeping it from moving.

The 75hp..... 90 psi sounds okay. It's usually 100+ psi but what you have will no doubt increase while running.

Re: '61 Sea Horse QD-21 and '65 75553 Questions

Thanks, Joe,
I really appreciate the help. I'll see what I can see on the 10 hp. I'm helping a Nam Vet buddy that's disabled on this unit so I can get him fishin'. It's a worthy endeavor.
That's great news on the '65 Speedifour, too. She's between 90 and 95 on all four so I guess that's acceptable range. She's only getting spark on two cylinders and from what I read, it looks like those had dual points so, I'll bet one is either shot or corroded. I had a '64 90 hp model but it seems to me the distributor cap on that one was right-side-up. This one's upside down.
Anyway, like usual, you guys on this site never fail to pull my rear out of the fire. - Thanks again... jpstude
