62 Merc 1000 Starter Bendix

Is there parts avialable to rebuild the bendix in these starters? and will the bendix sing like it is bad if the battery is low?<br /><br />Thanks,<br /><br />Terry

I think ARCO still has complete bendixs for that engine in their book ck their web site
