I have a glass fuel bowl with filter inside, when connecting the fuel line and pump the primer bulb it seems hard to prime the fuel system, having to squeeze hard on the bulb and alot of times.I can get the motor started and idle pretty good but the fuel level in the glass bowl is about 1/4 to 1/2 full when running, i can see gas being pumped in from the fuel pump but this doesnt seem right and the engine will die after about 40 seconds of good idling . I changed to a different fuel pump and have the same results??? its seems to me like a air blockage somewhere. any thoughts on this to where i may find the problem.

You will never get that glass bowl to fill and stay full. That is just the way it is, always was, and always will be. Look elsewhere for your problem.
