I finally got my boat up and running, I even got to take it for a short test spin in my tank(pond) on my property. I will try to get video tomorrow

One thing, I was wondering is if I could get a tilt/trim kit for my motor? It would make things a lot easier. Plus it would be nice to have.

63 Evinrude Speedifour 75hp Model #75353

I was hoping that maybe one from a later year would work. I was up at the evinrude repair shop, and they had a universal one for 550, but thats just a lil to rich for my blood.

Thanks for your guys help in advance.

Your motor did have power tilt as an option. Power trim became availible in 1973 for 1973 and later engines

But no, not for a 63. There are tilt brackets, but I'm not optomistic they'd be much good on a heavy old V-4.

Ok thanks, I knew that power trim wasnt avalible for my motor as a factory option. I was just hoping maybe one from a later year would fit.

I guess I will just stick to hopping in the water and changing the pin.

$550 for a universal trim is actually not a bad deal. More than a few backyard handy men have managed to create designs that did enable them to trim the old fat 4s while in use. Too complex to contemplate for me.

You shouldn't have to be hopping in the water to change a pin. Not if you use the correct pin. It's a stainless steel "drive" pin, not designed to break. Note, I didn't say that you can't break it.

Well its got four holes there for the pin to go into, so I can adjust the trim that way, but im no superhero and cant lift the motor and change pin holes by leaning over the back of the boat. and most of the time we are in and out of the water ski'n tubing, board'n so its no big deal.

My main goal was to be able to tilt the engine for movement out of the water.

I have looked at the CMC kits, but 550 is kinda high when your in college. lol

I went to the evinrude guy down the street that has a ton of old parts and motors laying around. So I may just try to piece together one that way. The guy that owns it is super nice, and he said if I need it to take it. Its been back there too long. lol

I will keep you guys updated on what I do

That is exactly what I did for my 1975 50 HP., except I went "scrounging" on eBay.
