63 merc 1000

What I thought was a 68 turned out to be a 63 merc, thanks to the net.It's not charging & guessed that it was probably the rectifier(because that's the cheapest route}.If it was a 68,I would be able to buy it over the net.No one I've found lists parts for a 63 100hp.I did put a dist. cap listed for a 68 100hp on and works just great-I wonder if the rectifier would work-if that's the problem! Ideas welcomed,thanks

a rectifier from a 68 will work. You can also get a new stlye one and it will work also. just need to drill a couple of holes to mount it.
