Hello All-
So i recently came into possession of a '64 Edinboro Custom, it needs alot of work, but before i really dig in i had a few questions about the general construction of the boat. I know my first real step in resurrecting this boat will be replacing the transom. I was also thinking of replacing the floor, having spent a bit of time around a MFG Carefree i know that there is a wood sub floor in those boats between the hull and the inner glass floor. I know that the Edinboro is constructed using a sub floor sitting on top of stringers so before i dig into the floor i was wondering if someone could clarify a few things about the construction of the floor on the Edinboro, my first thought was that it was marine ply sitting on the stringers covered with glass, but as i probed a bit into a few pre drilled holes if didn't feel like there was any wood in there, also having read a few posts about '64 Niagaras and a few Edinboros it seems to me like the floor may be just solid fiberglass, could this be the case? also i was curious to see what the stringers are made of, i know on the Niagara the stringers are straight glass, so i was curious if this was the case on a Edinboro as well?
