i would like to know everything you know about this boat and motor.boat is 64 seaking cabin cruiser17ft. motor is 60 hp.seaking,ithinkboat was made by chetec for montgomery ward? motor was made by gale in63. boatis in good condition.<br />iwant to insure it ,what is it worth? the traileris originalto boat in good condition.<br /> p.s. thanks to those who told me about motor.<br /> thanks john

Once you get it all spiffed up and running, you'll need to get it surveyed to have any hope of getting a value that the insurance company will have to adhere to. Such old boats draw whatever setttlement the insurance company is going to offer, a few hundred bucks. You need proof that it's worth more than an average boat of it's type and age. Keep a file with reciepts from anything you buy for it or have done to it, especially if it's above and beyond normal maintenance. Keep good maintenance records. Pictures, pictures, pictures! You can get a rider on homeowner's and renter's policies. It's pretty cheap that way.
