65 40hp Johnson super seahorse won't start

I had to replace my fuel line that goes to the in connection on the fuel pump with a 5/16 fuel line.<br />I also changed my plugs from what I found out were lawn mower plugs champion j19lm to a champion j4c gapped at 0.30 now the engine will not start it started right up before any suggestions

Are you sure you put the spark plug leads on the right way around? Do you have spark at all?

I checked and The leads are on the right plugs and it is definetely sparking strong.

Try spraying some fuel/oil mix directly into the carb. If it fires, then pour fuel/oil into a small funnel into the carb intake hose.<br /><br />If it runs OK, then you have a fuel delivery problem, possibly the pump.

Thanks for your help It was the fuel pump Ihad an extra one put it on and runs great now.
