The locating pin in the upper section got either pushed in or beat to a pulp when I had a problem a couple years ago.
I'm looking for some ideas on how to remove the pin to replace with a new one.

Are we looking at the dowel pin that locates the bearing? Drill a small hole in it, thread the hole, screw in a screw, pull the screw and pin out.

Yes that's the pins. I thought about that but I am thinking the pin is hardened.

Drill it out as stated.-----You may find that this pin LOCATES the bearing for proper lube flow.------Not really critical if you position that bearing properly before closing it up.
