I just bought this boat pretty much sight unseen and i'll be picking it up tomorrow and i thought i'd ask tonight if anyone out there would know what engine would be in the boat. It's a 16/18 ft fiberglass runabout with the marking "Interceptor" 140 hp. Theres no name on the engine but its painted what i think is Ford blue and if it is where would i find the #'s? Thanx.

More than likely, if it's original 1965 engine, that "Interceptor 140 hp" would be a small block ford V8 (260 cubic inch?) marinized by Chris Craft...

As to where to find #'s?, Ya got me?

For parts, NAPA might have a listing for "1965 ChrisCraft Interceptor 140" or something similar in the marine parts books..
:)

Snappers right it is a Eaton Interceptor but I think the 140 was a ford 221 cu. in. we have use 260s and 289s with good luck, but a 289 4 barrel or 302 will break your engine to drive input shaft---bob

Thanx guys! You hit the nail on the head, I went to a couple of auto parts stores and you would have thought that I was looking for Stanley Steamer parts, but I finally found an old timer that confirmed your input. Thanks again.
